COMING SUMMER 2026!
Tabletop Role-Playing Social Skills Groups
Tabletop Role-Playing Social Skills Group is a type of therapy that combines the content of Social Skills Group Therapy with the action and adventure of Tabletop Role-Playing.
Social Skills Groups are used to encourage healthy communication among peers. Typically covered by insurance, most participants grow life-long skills within Group Therapy.
Instead of a formal approach to Social Skills Group Therapy, the Tabletop Role-Playing wraps all the benefits into a fun and engaging game— fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and cooperation. Each client will get to choose a character and role-play through challenging obstacles, led by Game Master, Dr. Norfolk. Groups will meet weekly for 9 weeks, keeping the same participants together. Every session is different, so therapy never gets boring.
Dr. Norfolk acted in community theater for many years, as well as provided the voice acting for a PC game in 2005 (be sure to ask him which one). Combining therapy with game play, his voice-acting and story-telling engages participants in the work of Social Skills Group while having epic fun.
Critical Core
Four to five adventurers participate in a 9-week journey, with encounters from the Critical Core adventure modules designed by Game to Grow to encourage growth through Social Skills training. Services provided through therapeutically applied, tabletop role-playing games in a group session format; high magic / high fantasy, ‘sword & sorcery’ setting.
